Vicky has never been the dainty, delicate type. She’s the queen of the house — affectionate strictly on her own schedule, generous with side‑eye if you dare pick her up without permission, and absolutely convinced that petting her is a full‑time job. If she’s curled up beside you, you don’t stop unless she says so. That’s Vicky: stubborn, particular, and completely adored.
She was diagnosed with a heart murmur as a puppy, but it didn’t slow her down or soften her personality. For years, she lived her life exactly the way she wanted to — sunbathing, supervising the household, and reminding everyone that she runs the place.
When she turned nine, everything shifted. Her murmur progressed into Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), and suddenly our days were filled with medication schedules, respiratory rate tracking, symptom notes, and trying to make sense of lab results. Caring for her became a blend of love, vigilance, and constant learning.
We searched for an app that could help us stay organized — something built for the realities of chronic care, not just generic reminders. Nothing brought all the pieces together in a way that truly supported what CHF management requires.
So we built what we needed.
V-Care Paws is named in her honor — for her resilience, her attitude, and the pets like her who live with chronic conditions while still filling our lives with so much personality and joy. This platform exists because of her, and because no pet parent should have to piece everything together alone.
Today, Vicky continues her journey. She has good days and challenging days, but through it all, her spirit remains unbroken. She still loves her couch spot by the sun, her window seat on car rides, her squirrel chases at the park, her play sessions with her sister Bailey, and most of all, being close to her family.
We share this app with the hope that it will help other pet parents navigate their own journeys — making the overwhelming feel manageable, and giving you more time to focus on what matters most: loving your furry friend.
